There was movement at the station.

Leaving Bologna I thought it would be just a matter of catching a train at one of the seven platforms, but when we entered the departure hall (not much bigger than Geelong station) found we were to go to platform 17.

The station is huge, platforms from eight to nineteen are all underground. These platforms service the fast trains that criss cross Italy. Bologna is the main hub where just about any train from the south must go through for the north.

Business Class
We got faster too, up to 298 km/h
Time to change trains in Milan, we will stay next time
For us the train journey was uneventful along with the next one to Santa Margherita Ligure (SML)
We have now checked in and have rested today as it has been quite tiring.
The location of our accommodation is great, as you can see.

From the hotel balcony
Sorry for the short blog, but not much happens when in transit, many things to see and do here in the next five days, so lots of photos to come.

Tomorrow - Beach and water.
