I love it, when we're cruising together

Cruising has always been a favourite of ours, from cruising the Gippsland Lakes, to the Murray river and The Thames, today was time for the Spree River. The hardest part of going on a cruise in Berlin is working out what boat, what dock, and where it goes.
Making this worse, all the signage was in German.

All in all we ended up on a one hour tour and it was fantastic, the commentary was in German all over the ship but they had these great little devices like smartphones where we could select english, place to our ear and listen.

Summertime in Berlin
After the cruise we had a wander up Friedrichstraße and had some lunch at a small cafe across the road from the most typical Berlin convenience store I've seen.
These stores sell everything, including beer, wine, spirits
After a quick run on the U-bahn (subway) we were in the area of the Brandenburg Gate on Unter den Linden. Following some purchases we headed through the Brandenburg gate and over to see the German Parliament building, the Reichstag Building.
We missed Nivea Hamburg, but hit gold in Berlin.

The afternoon was spent in the Großer Tiergarten (Tier Garden) relaxing on the grass with many Berliners.

On our way back to the hotel we stopped by at Potsdamer Platz and had a few moments to reflect on the Berlin Wall. Below pictured, is one of the few remaining pieces of the wall left, positioned in the exact location of where the original wall stood, that created so much division and hostility. The line that is 'ground' into the footpath, defines the location of The Wall.
