Cortona, Under the Tuscan Sun, and we were

Our second and final Tuscan town was Cortona, famous for being Under the Tuscan Sun. Again as Rosalinda was unavailable, our lovely guide Stefano drove us to the top of the town and provided us with a map and directions through the city and
to the meeting point.

As Cortona has been brushed with fame recently, it has a lot more of a commercial tourist feel than Castiglion Fiorentino, but this is not in a bad way, it still retains its small and quiet Piazzas and local feel. Most Hill towns we have been to have expanded down on the flat areas beneath the town, allowing for population expansion and easier commercial and industrial business.

At least the map is the right way up!

Katie couldn't choose, thankfully, Imagine the excess baggage on the plane!

The hills are that steep that there is even an escelator.

We ended our afternoon 'Under the Tuscan Sun', with a cold beer and glass of wine overlooking the area made famous by the novel and movie. What a way to end our time in Tuscany. Tonight, we'll enjoy our last dinner with Rosalinda and Stefano, as tomorrow we leave for Venice.
