When in Rome...

Bonjourno.

European Drivers must all be crazy, we have never seen so many drivers talking on the phone throwing hand gestures and yelling out the window, all at the same time!

Our driver from the airport  was no different.
When we got into the mini van the first thing I noticed was the smashed rear view mirror held together with sticky tape. Katies seatbelt might well have been non existant, but we were just so pleased to be out of Emirates sardine can that nothing was said.

His driving was very Roman. A few items to note when driving in Rome. Always drive with one hand on the phone, while the other is making gestures out the window. It is a crazy place on the roads and our driver was no exception. He was able to drive while texting, not using indicators (ever) and most times on the freeway was in at least 2 lanes. He was a great driver and did get us here in one piece.

We have now had our first wander through some of Rome and have seen the Pantheon, and the first word that come to mind was wow!.

It was just amazing

Seeing sights like these, is just amazing, and at the moment it is still hard to believe we are walking the streets of this city.

Piazza Novono was also a sight to see, so many local artists selling their paintings. At first glance it was amazing but most had the same paintings, these men and there forefathers were the first Photocopiers I'm sure.

Tomorrow we will continue this amazing adventure with what I'm sure will be an overwhelming tour of Vatican City.
